What information I collect

When you contact me through this website, by phone or by email, I collect the details you give me. This is usually:

- your name
- your phone number and email address
- your address, so I can visit you and work out the callout charge
- a description of the problem you need help with

When I do a job for you, I also keep a record of the work and the invoice.

While I am working on your computer, phone or other device, I may see files, emails or photos on it. I only look at what I need to fix the problem. I never copy, keep or share your personal files unless you ask me to, for example when I move your files to a new computer.

How I use your information

I use your information to:

- reply to your enquiry and arrange a visit
- carry out the work you ask for
- send you a quote or an invoice, and take payment
- keep business and tax records, as the law requires
- ask for a review or follow up on a job, which you can say no to at any time

I do not sell your information. I do not use it for advertising, and I do not send marketing emails unless you have asked me to.

The legal reasons I rely on

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), I use your information because:

- I need it to give you the service you asked for (contract)
- I must keep business and tax records (legal obligation)
- it is reasonable for running my business, such as following up on a job (legitimate interests)

Who I share it with

I only share your information with services I need to run my business:

- SumUp, to send invoices and take payments
- QuickBooks, for my business accounts
- Google, which provides my email

These companies keep your information secure and only use it to provide their service to me. I will also share information if the law requires it.

How long I keep it

I keep invoices and job records for six years, because the law requires it for tax. If you contact me but do not go ahead with a job, I delete your details within 12 months.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not use Google Analytics. It may use a small essential cookie to make the contact form and the site work properly. The website also loads its fonts from Google, which means Google can see your device's internet address when the page loads.

Keeping your information safe

I keep your information in password-protected accounts, and I only keep what I need.

Your rights

You have the right to:

- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
- ask me to correct anything that is wrong
- ask me to delete your information, unless I must keep it by law
- object to how I use your information

To use any of these rights, email computeriotsupport@gmail.com. I will reply within one month.
